Most Serene Republic
As I researched my last pair of blog posts, I thought to myself, who in their right mind would officially name themselves “The Most Serene Republic of San Marino?” What’s going on over there? Is it that serene and tranquil to name their country like that? Hmm, I wonder what it’d be like to hook up with a Sammarinese.
Don’t get me wrong, small island nation flags are great. But there are four Exotic Flags that have always intrigued me: The Most Serene Republic of San Marino (30,800), Monaco (33,000), Liechtenstein (35,593), and Andorra (86,000). Their populations combined barely fits the definition of a town. Getting one of these flags is like winning the lottery.
