Flag Hunter
A Flag Hunter will have sex with any foreigner just to capture their flag. The flag is the prize or trophy a Flag Hunter is aiming for.
At first glance, it could be perceived as predatorial; yet, haven’t we all thought, especially when traveling, “I’d really like to hook up with a particular foreigner, I wonder what it’d be like.” Whilst going out to a bar/club, haven’t you looked for hot wo/men? Of course you have, we all have because we appreciate the innate attractiveness of the opposite sex (or same sex, to be politically correct). If you’ve ever been keen to hook up, you have a bit of hunter in you, just not as much as a Flag Hunter.
I began my travels as a Flag Hunter and would hook up with chicks, or consider hooking up, that I wasn’t attracted to just to lay claim to their flags – and got into many a sticky situation because of it. I wanted to know, I had to know/demystify, what it was like to hook up with exotic foreigners.
My blind passion for foreign women didn’t notice the signs that a Vietnamese girl I picked up at a bar in Saigon was a prostitute! I got out of the situation in one piece and ended up not paying thus earning me the flag. I thought I’d be robbed or killed by her pimp or the local police. Hands down, one of the worst days of my life.
Even though flag hunting is part of my past and has influenced the way I used to think, I admit I’m a recovering Flag Hunter. Like a recovering alcoholic or gambler, the temptation will always be there if I met a very rare flag. I’d automatically think whether I had that flag or not, and hooking up for the flag would cross my mind.
Flag Collector
A Flag Collector, also known as a flag connoisseur, doesn’t seek sex with someone just to lay claim to their flag. Instead, the flag is the byproduct or added bonus of hooking up with an attractive wo/man. Flag Collectors collect flags as they come, happenchance, the end to a means, not the means to an end. Getting a new flag is the end result of hooking up and not the purpose/motivation for hooking up in the first place.
Flagging is but a travel game. A game that’s always in the back of your mind, without winners or losers, only culture enthusiasts and pleasure seekers. Think how many flags you have; you’ve been playing all along and haven’t realized it.
