Recently, The Hunger and I mentioned we’ll be in Turkey, Cyprus, and Greece (but mostly Turkey) starting August 8 till September 12. We thought Turkey would be great for a vacation because it’s the Med, and neither of us has been there yet.
Ideally, I’d like to spend one week in five different places, but I know myself too well: I get bored easily and I think Hunger does too. After hearing many reports from many Scandos about Alanya, we decided to start and stay there a week. Apparently, this is the place for good parties in a typical tourist town.
I need a long trip especially after surviving my second Norwegian winter. Plenty of alcohol, nightlife, relaxing beaches and world famous kebabs to cure my hangovers. Oh yes, debauchery will ensue, flags will be captured!
Naturally, we’ll have to Reset our Flag Radars. Even though we’ll be in Turkey, Turkish flags will be a bit challenging because Ramadan happens from August 1 to August 29. I heard Istanbul is a bit more liberal than everywhere else. Plus, we’ll be in Istanbul from early September till we leave, way after Ramadan finishes.
The Hunger is in Turkey now, scouting out the place after a fall out with some English resort thing gone bad. I’m sure he’ll mention it in an upcoming post.
The trip as it looks now:
- Alanya
- Cyprus
- Antalya
- Marmaris
- Rhodes
- Kos
- Bodrum
- Cesme
- Istanbul
If you’re in the area, hit us up. We’ll be promoting WaveThatFlag.com and planning the final stages of Operation Sigma. We’ll keep you posted on Twitter with day to day stuff.

Hit us up man, we should be around Cesme/Izmir or Istanbul around then. Ramadan is in August, i love challenges
